June 12th Weekend

We had a guest for the weekend and we did lots of fun things. I was taking pictures to journal the entire thing. I am lucky that a picture is worth a thousand words since I am not so good with words.

I think he is especially looking for the tire swing pictures but he has to get through Saturday first. Like most weekends it started off slow, with kids sleeping late, and quiet time... the kind where you can read (if no one is taking your picture.) Then you want to shoot some pool... good thing no one was watching.
He brought a couple of kites so we tried our very best to get them up in the air flying, the way kites should be.

Each using their own technique...
But those kites kept coming down quickly...
So we moved on to the playground.

Getting these two to swing and jump in unison was next to impossible. But I finally got it.

Then we start exploring the many ways to spin and get sick...
Sitting...
Bouncing...
Sliding...
Racing and...

Refreshing. And then the long walk home.
If you are looking ahead at the pictures you will see we are almost to Sunday... and the tire swing pictures.

First you will see there is climbing to do...
and more spinning.
A well balanced kid.

And FINALLY the tire swing...
See that smile... I think he is having some fun

Then we are on to the Skywalker...

And a safe landing.
More monkeys on the tire swing...
We know this monkey on the swing

Yeah we all ride the tire swing!!

The tire swing again... I think he likes it.

A boy and a dog = Happiness This face became a recurring theme with these pictures.
Our host with my daughter doing tricks on the Skywalker.
The girls doing tricks together. They were supposed to be doing flips together but it became much easier to just sit here together.
Long Leggies
That face again...
Sister love.
And that face again...
and yet again...

Bouncing and
Throwing,
And riding at Rusty Cock Ridge.

Some of the beauty that surrounds us here.
Digging for treasure.

I grew up thinking that a hole is to dig... but it turns out mountains are too.
The following weekend we headed back to Rusty Cock Ridge so my son could make his potato wedges for our hosts. Welcoming him into their kitchen with open arms became quite the venture in more than one kind of potatoes and lots of help. They even had a supervisor taking up the most floor space.

That face reminds me of my favorite sister, when she was that age.

It looks like you had a fun weekend.
