One Ring in our Circus

Last weekend was the Tolo dance at the local high school. For those of you from my generation, that means the girl asks the boy to the dance. There is also a Sadie Hawkin's dance, but this gives those women's libbers 2 chances to ask a boy in a school year. One of the things my girls have figured out is that they come to the house ahead of time for pictures. It actually started out slow, and then the doors came crashing in with the rest of this group.
These two went together, and just like her older sister, he asked her to the dance. She was not going to do the asking.
Here is her sister, older and wiser, and this time the asking was mutual since they are officially dating.
Best friends since way back when and still as close as two peas in a pod.

I am not dirty

When she was out running today (not getting dirty) she fell off the log she was walking over and a branch snagged her shin. As her mother I am trying to convince her to soak her leg in a bath to get it clean. She wanted to just wash the affected area, her legs are not dirty. This is what her not dirty legs look like after taking off her shoes and socks. This is the best picture of her nasty gash. Of course it pales in comparison to the divot on the left side of her leg seen here. She got that falling into the bilge on a boat. This one was sore and had a bump and apparently it was hard for her to tap last night too. Mom likes touching it and she would rather I didn't.

To Rachael and Riley: This is what you can look forward to and I think she will live through this too.
