Nutcracker 2009

For those of you not living close enough to come see the Nutcracker, here are a few pictures so you can enjoy it too.A girl and her power tools!! From the very beginning to the very end, this dancer is a part of the process. She spends all day assembling set pieces and is back again at night for the first rehearsal in the theater.
This year her parts are a French..... ... Rat. Not necessarily in that order.
These two ladies have been crowned the Costume Queens for all their time and effort putting together and fitting all the dancers in their costumes.
Backstage, there is a lot that goes on. This young man created and built this Nutcracker out of Lego. Now that is talent!!
There is time to pose with friends.
And to put on that pretty smile by yourself too.During the ballet, this is the true ruler of the rats, Herr Drosselmeier. The flowers come downstairs during every performance. These came from the piano player that all the girls listen to in class. Thanks Gerry. From the wings, this is an impressive talented group.
After the show, there is time for your fan club. This youngster asked my daughter for her autographAnd then there is the family and friends. Most of this group came to watch the show and there are a few who performed.
Out of our very small Girl Scout troop we had 3 girls and 3 leaders attend. 2 of the Girl Scouts performed. I was thankful that some of their families were there too.And then there was family. I am not sure there is an explanation for them. And the cousins. If there was no explanation for the brothers and sisters, these nuts did not fall far out of the family tree.
Ballerina kisses bring good luck to a Valentines date. And to his sister too.
